Hi At Alternative Therapy we understand these challenges.

Sharon our senior therapist works with amazing people like

you to find some balance in their life . Sharon is not only an

accredited therapist , she also understands your journey as

she is also a fibromyalgia champion . Sharon has learnt to live

with several chronic conditions and to thrive in her own way.

You could do this too.

It is possible to be your best self as you were not born to

suffer. You were born to shine bright like the star you are.

We cannot cure you yet we can build your self esteem and

lead you to a better future.


1. Fighting mentality – don’t fight yourself, get peace

through nurturing yourself.

2. Is your body asking you to make changes. Do you boom

and bust, are certain foods or alcohol triggers for a flare

up

3. Self compassion – are you too tough on yourself. Build a

caring relationship with yourself

4. Living with a chronic illness /pain will cause mental

issues, you need to work on your mental wellbeing

5. Find your happiness. You may not be able to do the

things that you enjoyed in the past . However, you


should find something else that brings you calm and

happiness

6. Yoga / tai chi / exercise it may feel counterintuitive to

take up exercise when you are pain but endorphins

produced during exercise will help your flexibility and

mental health.

7. Mind, body and soul. Do you have a connection with

your soul. Chronic illness is not a punishment, and we

should be nurturing our inner peace

8. Breathing -we don’t always take note of our breathing

but it is a great way to bring calm. Use breathing as a

kind of meditation and this activates the

parasympathetic nervous system (the rest & digestion

system)It also connects your mind and body.

9. Learning to transform your and transcend their pain. Set

your boundaries, You can be healed, even if not cured.

10. You can find ways to heal your cells to improve

your general health and energy levels, this can include

heat or cold exposure, uv exposure and even fasting but

do consult a professional first

11 you do need to work this process on your own.However

having a guide, mentor, best friend is essential. Get a

support team, professionals or not.
